About
What SimpleTaxInvoice is
A private invoice workflow for Australian and UK small businesses, with a flexible general invoice format for other regions. It runs in your browser, needs no account, and stores your data on your device by default.
What it does
- Creates branded GST and VAT invoices (plus estimates and quotes) with country-correct fields — ABN and GST for Australia, VAT number and tax point for the UK.
- Applies one tax rate across the invoice, with whole-invoice zero-rated, exempt and reverse-charge treatments that print their required statement on the document.
- Downloads a clean, selectable-text PDF; prints your payment details and a professional sequential invoice number on it.
- Keeps frozen sent copies with integrity verification, tracks outstanding and overdue invoices, and drafts polite payment reminders — which you send yourself.
- Backs up on one click to a file, or optionally to your own Google Drive.
What it deliberately doesn't do
- No accounts, no login, no server of ours that holds your invoices.
- No payment processing, recurring billing, card payments or bank feeds — this tool creates and tracks documents; money moves through your own bank or provider.
- No automatic sending. Email and WhatsApp open a draft; you review it and press send.
- No mixed-rate line items — one rate per invoice, stated plainly on the pages where it matters.
- No tax advice. You choose the rate and treatment; the tool does the arithmetic and prints your selection.
Who operates it
simpletaxinvoice.com is an independent, individually operated project. You can reach the operator at [email protected] — see the contact page for what to expect.
How it's funded
Today: it isn't — it runs on the operator's own time and the near-zero cost of static hosting. To keep it free, content pages like the guides may later carry clearly-labelled ads or affiliate links. The editor — where your data lives — will never carry either.
Principles
- Private by architecture: data is stored on your device by default and leaves only through actions you take yourself.
- Honest language: a draft that was opened is called "draft opened", never "sent". Warnings say what is true, and only when useful.
- Primary sources: country guidance cites official sources (ATO, GOV.UK) — never blog folklore.
- Your data is yours: export your business records to a file you control, restore them from it, and remove them by clearing the app's browser data — without asking anyone. (Device-local preferences deliberately stay out of backups.)
